Starbase C3

     StarbaseC3 was a pioneering transmedia virtual reality property, combining social media, creative commerce, 3D media, narrative storytelling, e-commerce, micro payments, virtual worlds, avatars, augmented reality games, 3D printing, and more a decade before such online business models and technologies became mainstream.

     Behind the concept was a conflict-driven, science fiction narrative. Though the C3 universe was preestablished, users were free to create their own media to expand it, including stories, avatars, starships, machinima, and planetary worlds that could be shared with the community.

     The spaces used the Netscape browser and VRML2 on Blaxxun servers.
